Last Saturday more than 5000 ultras, fans and ordinary citizens gathered in the city center of Zenica to protest against the current situation of their football club NK Čelik Zenica. The leadership  of the club plan to shut down NK Čelik Zenica because of the bad economy.

At the moment the club got a huge dept which they can't pay. It's said to be 10 million KM (about 5 million euros) in dept after years with bad leadership.

NK Čelik Zenica were founded in 1945 and have their 70th anniversary this summer. For people in the small city of Zenica (111 000 inhabits) their club is an important part of the city life.

Čelik also have a rich history and long traditions. Two-time champion of Central European Cup, triple champion of Bosnia and Hercegovina, and one time winner of the international Intertoto cup.

As supporters gathered in the city they walked behind a banner with text "Responsibility City Zenica . Stop closing down F.C. Celik".

Players also joined the protest, some of them with tears in their eyes.
