EURO 2016: French fans and police clashed underneath the Eiffel Tower.

French police and fans clashed underneath the Eiffel Tower during and after the yesterday's EURO 2016 final match France-Portugal.

Trouble broke out within minutes of the start of the match, when fans tried to enter fan zone, but police stopped them because maximum capacity in fan zone was reached.

‘There were far too many people trying to get in,’ said an officer at the scene. ‘We had to try and keep them back, and that’s why tear gas was used.'

Troubles continued and after the match which France lost.
